PRP HAIR LOSS

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy for hair loss is a popular, non-surgical treatment that uses your own blood to stimulate hair growth. Here are the key benefits:

1. Stimulates Natural Hair Growth

PRP contains growth factors that help revitalize dormant hair follicles, promoting the growth of thicker, healthier hair.

2. Increases Hair Thickness & Strength

PRP strengthens the hair shaft, leading to fuller, denser hair and reducing breakage or thinning.

3. Reduces Hair Shedding

By improving follicle health, PRP helps slow down excessive hair shedding, which is common in conditions like androgenetic alopecia (male and female pattern baldness).

4. Improves Scalp Health

PRP boosts circulation in the scalp, delivering oxygen and nutrients to hair follicles, creating a healthier environment for hair growth.

5. Non-Surgical & Natural Treatment

PRP is a minimally invasive procedure that uses your own blood, reducing the risk of allergic reactions or complications.

6. Complements Other Hair Loss Treatments

PRP can be combined with medications (Minoxidil, Finasteride), LED therapy, or hair transplants to enhance results.

7. Suitable for Various Hair Loss Types

PRP is beneficial for early-stage hair loss, thinning hair, postpartum shedding, and even post-hair transplant recovery.

Blood is drawn from the patient and spun in a centrifuge to derive PRP, which is then injected into the scalp to stimulate dormant hair follicles and encourage hair regeneration.

Injections are typically administered monthly for three months, followed by three more sessions at 6 week intervals.

An LED therapy session is included 2-3 days after your treatment. Red and infrared light penetrate deep into the scalp, activating the mitochondria in hair follicle cells. This boosts ATP (cell energy) production, which promotes stronger, thicker hair growth when combined with PRP.

The duration of your session can vary, typically taking up to 45 minutes depending on the areas being treated.

No need to worry! For treatments that require it, we apply medical-grade numbing cream to ensure your comfort. Our cosmetic nurse will always treat you with care, providing a stress ball and even playing Netflix to distract you from any discomfort.

The procedure is quick (30–60 minutes) with little to no downtime—most people can resume normal activities the same day. Mild swelling or redness typically resolves within 24–48 hours.

Proper preparation before Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy ensures the best results and a smooth procedure. Here’s what clients should do:

1. Stay Hydrated 💧

  • Drink plenty of water (at least 2 liters) in the 24 hours leading up to your appointment.
  • Hydration helps with easier blood draw and better plasma quality.

2. Avoid Alcohol & Caffeine

  • 24–48 hours before treatment, avoid alcohol, coffee, and energy drinks, as they can dehydrate you and affect platelet concentration.

3. Eat a Healthy Meal

  • Have a nutritious meal before your appointment to prevent dizziness or lightheadedness after the blood draw.
  • Include protein-rich foods (eggs, fish, chicken) and iron-rich foods (spinach, red meat) to support platelet production.

4. Avoid Blood Thinners

  • 5–7 days before treatment.

5. Pause Hair Treatments 🚿

  • Avoid hair dyes, chemical treatments, or keratin treatments at least 1 week before your PRP session to prevent scalp irritation.
  • Wash your hair the night before or the morning of your appointment.

6. Skip Smoking & Vaping

  • Smoking reduces blood circulation, which can impact the effectiveness of PRP.
  • Avoid smoking at least 3 days before your treatment for better results.
